About the hunt

Sika at River Valley.

Don't let the size fool you — sika are among the wariest deer on the ranch, quick to slip into cover and quick to answer a call in the rut with a whistling bugle. That mix of vocal action and genuine difficulty makes them a favorite of hunters who've done the rest. Hunt the thicker, water-adjacent ground with a guide who can call.
